The above link has a nice little exchange regarding the headline news about unemployment. Most “mainstream” outlets are leading with the large drop. The LA Times print edition trumpeted about it and saved the bad news for below the fold.
The fact that 36,000 new jobs is about 25% of the expected number (more of less) was not played up. Everybody seemed to expect around 140,000 new jobs. Something is bad, very bad in the unemployment numbers.
